Coming to America
We came to America for better opportunities. Our parents could find better jobs here and we know we can get an excellent education. It was not easy to come here. It takes a lot of paper work to get a visa to come to the United States. Some of the papers the U.S. government wanted were hard to find. It took us over a year to get approved to come to the United States.
What We Left Behind
We left behind many family members that we will never forget for our whole life. We left behind siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family. It was also hard to leave behind friends. Some of our friends we have known since kindergarten. We miss our get-togethers with our relatives and spending time with our friends. These are all people who are very important to us. Our hearts hurt when we think of them. These were the people who helped us when we had problems. These are the people we will never forget.
What We Found Here
The United States is nice because there are a lot of oppurtunites here. We know we will get a good education. We know that when we graduate from college we can stay here or go back to the Philippines and have good jobs.
